| I
love games, and apparently I hate some. Today the market is getting saturated
with less than great games. Video games are moving back to pop culture
with everyone and their brother sporting a Legend of Zelda t-shirt and
such. Will we
ever get it back? Doubtful. Not when companies can shape the minds and
rake in the cash of the next generation who don't even know what an Atari
2600 is.
So in my reviews, if a game
sucks, I tell you it does and why. Most people see a rating of 5/10 and
would say that the reviewer thinks it's terrible. To me, a rating of 5
is an average game. With the abundance of those non-innovational, push-it-out-as-fast-as-
we-can, average games out there, it's no surprise to see quite a few around
that number. It's those that rise a good deal above that 50%mark that are the truly good ones.
I use a 100-point scale breaking
down each of my classifiable genres and sub-genres on the criteria that
matters, pitting each game within that category primarily against each
other. I have my
reviews sorted by the date added, the score I gave it, the platform and
by the genre, for your viewing pleasure.
Would I ask you to base your opinion from my review of a game? No way,
in fact I would encourage the opposite. I don't listen to anybody to frame
my perspective of a great game, as I would have missed plenty of good
ones by doing so. However, I like to think of myself as an objective thinker,
not biased toward or against any specific company or system. People used
to ask which of the three last generation consoles I like best, I replied
"They all have great games." My review section is here to provide
you with comparisons to other games, some screenshots as well as my humble
opinions.
People
say I put way too much thought into my Genre classification. But when
I specify a type of game I like to know exactly what I am talking about.
Sure it comes down to splitting hairs and even a difference of opinion,
but I believe I have presented a valid case for each of my classifications. |
